This past weekend MDA hosted our Annual Spring Retreat Seminar for Catholic medical professionals interested in short-term mission service with MDA. During the weekend we were joined by several MDA veterans and board members, and new mission doctors answering the call to medical mission service.
The presentations covered topics like “Spirituality of the Catholic Doctor” by Veteran Mission Doctor Lou Coda, “Theology of Mission,” from MDA Board Member Brother John Kiesler, and other wonderful presentations from MDA Veterans + Board Members: Drs. Roy and Melanie Elfrink, Dr. Martha Franz, Dr. Tim Cavanagh. Along with presentations on our Mission Partner Locations from Mission Doctors, Dr. Robyn Jennings and Dr. Mark Druffner.
As a mission-sending organization, it is our goal to support lay-Catholics at any stage of life in following God’s call towards mission service. We are happy that all of the medical professionals in attendance see mission service on the near horizon!
This year we were also blessed with 3 Catholic medical professionals considering service with their spouses and young children!
