Today, Mission Doctors serve in Ghana, Honduras, Peru, Tanzania, and Uganda. Additional requests from Papua New Guinea are currently under review, and we have more requests from Malawi, Belize, and Sierra Leone. For needs at specific locations, visit the Who We Need page.
The goal: work ourselves out of a job

Sustainable healthcare is always the long-term goal for Mission Doctors. We partner with local facilities, Catholic Bishops, Priests, Religious Sisters, and Brothers to provide direct patient care and training for local health professionals. In 1959, Mission Doctors began working in East Africa. Since then, MDA has made it possible for doctors to serve in hospitals in East and West Africa, the Pacific, in refugee camps in Thailand, and in hospitals and clinics in Central and South America. Today, Family Practice Physicians, Dentists, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgeons, OBGYNs, and other specialties all have a place in this mission, whether as a long or short term Mission Doctor. Contact the office to learn more about how you can become involved. To hear and see some of our doctors who are bringing health and hope to God’s poor in remote areas of the world, view our video Destination: Hope.
