This month, Catholic doctors, dentists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners will gather for our annual Retreat/Seminar at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

They will spend the weekend discerning a call to service, hearing from veteran Mission Doctors, and learning about the challenges of working in a resource-poor setting. 

These medical professionals are answering a call not just to heal, but to bring Christ’s love to our brothers and sisters living in Africa and Latin America.

As they reflect on how their skills can be used in service of those with limited access to healthcare, we ask for your prayers. Discernment is a journey that requires both courage and faith, and your support through prayer can help guide them as they consider this path of missionary service.

A Prayer for Medical Missionary 

Heavenly Father,

We lift in prayer the medical professionals gathering for this retreat/seminar. 

You have given them the gift of healing hands and compassionate hearts—may they be open to Your call.

Bless them with wisdom and courage as they discern how to serve those in need. 

Fill them with the strength to bring Your love and mercy to our brothers and sisters in Africa and Latin America, where medical care is often scarce.

May their faith be a guiding light, and may they always find joy in serving You through the care of others.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
