As we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15th, we are reminded of Mary’s unwavering faith and her ultimate reward: being taken body and soul into heaven. This feast, rich in spiritual significance, invites us to reflect on Mary’s life of trust in God’s call, her service, humility, and profound love for her Son, and all humanity.  

At Mission Doctors Association, these values resonate deeply with our mission to provide compassionate medical care to those in need around the world.

In rural clinics and hospitals, our Mission Doctors provide critical medical care to those who might otherwise go without. Today, treating diseases, delivering babies, performing surgeries, and offer hope to those in dire circumstances. Through their work, they bring the healing touch of Christ to the most vulnerable, following Mary’s example of loving service.

Mary’s life was marked by her selfless service and her willingness to say “yes” to God’s call, no matter the cost. From the Annunciation to the foot of the Cross, Mary exemplified a life dedicated to God’s will and that of service to others. Her assumption into heaven is a testament to her faith and her profound dedication to God’s plan.

Our Mission Doctors answer a call to serve those in need, often leaving behind the comforts of home to work in challenging and underserved communities. Inspired by Mary’s example, they bring not only medical expertise but also compassion, hope, and love to those they serve. They have also said “yes” to God’s invitation, dedicating their lives to healing the sick and comforting the suffering.

On this Feast of the Assumption, let us all draw inspiration from Mary’s life and her unwavering commitment to God’s will. We thank God for inviting Mary to her essential role in our salvation, and we thank Mary for showing us over and over that we too are called to live lives of service and faith.
