Mission Doctors Association

On March 19, we celebrate the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, honoring the quiet strength and faith of the man chosen to be the earthly father of Jesus.

St. Joseph is not only a model of fatherhood and trust in God’s plan, but he is also a powerful protector. The protector of the Holy Family, of the Church, and of all those who answer the call to mission.

St. Joseph’s life was one of humility, obedience, and deep trust in God. Though the Gospels contain no recorded words from him, it is his actions that speak volumes. Protecting Jesus from Herod’s plans, he led them safely to Egypt. He worked tirelessly as a carpenter to provide for his family. He listened for God’s guidance and followed it, even when the path was uncertain.

In many ways, his life reflects the call of Mission Doctors—men and women who leave behind the familiar to serve in places where medical care is scarce, trusting in God’s call and providence to guide their hands and hearts.

As we celebrate this solemnity, we ask for St. Joseph’s intercession for all who serve in mission. May his example inspire us to trust in God’s plan, to serve with humility, and to protect those in need.

Let us pray for the courage to say “yes” as St. Joseph did, offering our own gifts—whether in medicine, prayer, or support—to care for our brothers and sisters around the world.

Thank You for Making This Mission Possible

Because of your generosity, Mission Doctors are able to follow in St. Joseph’s footsteps, bringing healing and hope to those in need. Thank you for being part of this mission of faith and service.

St. Joseph, protector of families and missions, pray for us!
