About the Event
Spend a morning with the Mission Doctors community. Begin with 10:00 AM Mass at the beautiful Loyola Marymount University Chapel, followed by a complementary buffet brunch and a presentation by Dr. Peter Meade, recently returned from Sudan.
This event is for supporters, healthcare professionals, families, young adults, and anyone curious about the Church’s healing mission. You do not need a medical background to attend.

Dr. Peter Meade is a Board Certified General and Critical Care Surgeon with more than 35 years of experience in trauma and surgical critical care leadership. Over his career, he has served in 26 countries with 15 overseas service organizations, including war-torn Sudan, where access to surgical care can mean the difference between life and death.
Dr. Meade’s work is guided by his faith and his commitment to serving the underserved. He is a compelling storyteller, sharing experiences of courage, hope, and the quiet ways medicine becomes an act of mercy. He has been recognized for his humanitarian work with awards including Los Angeles Physician Humanitarian of the Year (1999) and the Msgr. Anthony Brouwers Award from Mission Doctors Association (2023).
At this event, Dr. Meade will share reflections from his service in Sudan, and guests will have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session.
