October 10 – October 19

Novenas (Nine days of Prayer) are said to have originated with Jesus’ instructions to his followers at the time of His ascension to Heaven, to pray as they awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit. These nine days of prayers became a tradition in other Holy Seasons, seen as a time of preparation, as a Novena in the nine days before Christmas.

Over time, other Novenas were developed and shared as a way for the community to pray together for specific intentions, or opportunities to present our needs before the Lord.

Join us, October 10-October 19 in a novena to St. Therese of the Child Jesus, the patroness of Missions.

As we pray for each other and ask others to pray for us, we also seek the intercession of those who have gone before us who are now among the Saints in Heaven. We invite you to join us in praying this Novena and asking St. Therese to pray with us. 

Our prayer intention is that many more doctors and their families will follow a call to serve as Mission Doctors, and Mission Doctors serving today will be blessed with good health, strong faith, and that they will recognize Jesus in all the people they serve.
