Lay Mission Helpers
Man teaching student ...The Los Angeles-based programs (Lay Mission- Helpers Association and Mission Doctors Association) are the oldest lay mission programs in the U.S. Church. Maryknoll July / August 2002

For we are God’s helpers...

For we are God's Helpers, the words on the rings worn by Lay Mission-Helpers and Mission Doctors as a reminder that they walk with the people of the missions on a path that can be difficult, but rewarding.

Lay Mission-Helpers Association, also founded by Msgr. Anthony Brouwers recruits, trains and supports the work of lay missionaries serving around the world in varied professions; teachers, nurses, computer specialists, agronomists, pastoral consultants, accountants, and administrators. In the nearly 50 years of service, more than 700 lay missionaries have served with LMH and MDA in 35 countries around the world.

Visit their Web site to learn more, and share this with others. The needs are so great, and the rewards of this work are inestimable.
